Wesley Chapel- State Road 56 Extension Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting

The details are being finalized on the much anticipated opening of the State Road 56 extension. The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, scheduled for July 31, 2010,  is an organized joint effort by the Wiregrass Ranch and the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce. To the Shops at Wiregrass, this is particularly good news as traffic by the Shops should immediately increase and access is more convenient for customers.

 Free event t-shirts will be given to the first 200 walkers/runners. The time frame of the event has been set as follows:

9:00am - Walk/Run on the closed road  
10:30am - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony performed by State Representative Will Weatherford 
11:00am (approx) - Road officially opens to the public

Free food will be provided to the walker/runners from Chamber members including Publix, Cosi, Bagelicious, Juice Zone and more.

Celebration Planned for Grand Opening of SR56 Extension

Saturday July 31, 2010 will be a day of celebration for many Wesley Chapel residents.  The long awaited opening of the SR56 extension will finally be a reality! The Wiregrass Ranch and the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce will hold a joint Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to commemorate the event.  The festivities will kick off at 9:00am with an inaugural walk/run at the Mansfield Boulevard/SR56 intersection followed by the ribbon cutting at 10:30am. A post-ribbon cutting celebration is in the works leading up to the official opening of  the road at noon.  The event  is open to the public. For additional information or to particiapte in the walk/run, call the Chamber office at (813)994-8534

Saddlebrook Resort's Tom Dempsey to speak at Wesley Chapel EDC Meeting


Saddlebrook Resort  Chairman and CEO, Tom Dempsey, will be the guest speaker at the Wesley Chapel Economic Development Committee (WCEDC) meeting on Thursday, July 22, 2010.  The WCEDC is a branch of the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce. Its meetings are held once a month (4th Thursday) from 11:30am-12:30pm in the American Consulting Engineers (ACE) Board Room. ACE is located behind the Hampton Inn at I75 and SR56.

Wesley Chapel Chamber Announces New Honorary Mayor


The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce announced Debbie Yoerg (The Trump Network; http://www.secret2oursuccess.com/)
as the winner of the 2010-11 Honorary Mayor Race. A celebration to end this year's event was held during the Chamber's monthly mixer  on July 15th at the Hampton Inn. The competition is held each year with the winner determined by the highest dollar amount raised for this fundraising event. A portion of each participants winnings is donated to a charity of their choice.  Ms. Yoerg's charity was Big Brothers/Big Sisters.  An approximate total of $8,000 was raised on behalf of the participants. Theresa Jacobs, last year's Honorary Mayor, came in second and was named Deputy Mayor.
